Service Learning

servicelearningBradford has a long and proud history of incorporating Service Learning into the foundation of our school.  It is a part of what makes Bradford so special.  Quite simply, Service Learning is a teaching and learning strategy that integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility and strengthen communities.  Many students mention that Service Learning is one of the main things that they remember about Bradford long after they’ve left our school.

Service Learning has coordinated projects throughout the year such as Food Drives, School Supply Drives, Holiday Outreach Program, Buddy Reading Program and Bike Drives.  We partner on many of these programs with our new sister school, Pleasant View Elementary.  Additionally, Service Learning has spread to other parts of the school such as the Student Council collecting Boxtops For Education and donating the money to other groups that the students are interested in helping.

If you are interested in getting involved, please contact the Committee Chairs listed under Your PTA.  There will also be additional information coming home throughout the year.
